Work: team of 2 students
Time: 3 weeks (150 minutes)
Objectives: Create a 7 to 8-minute-long video in which A) a patient goes to the doctor, or B) a professional interviews for a job.
Instructions for option A:
1.Go to one of these web sites and read about an illness both of you are familiar with. Tu salud, from Spain. Tu salud, from Mexico.
2.Decide who will play each role.
3.Then write the script for a dialogue. Remember to use USTED. The patient is waiting for the doctor and she/he is filling out a form that asks for symptoms, when was his/her last visit to the doctor, if he/she is taking any medication, etc. Click here to get the form. The doctor enters the examination room and greets the patient and starts the consultation. Include the following information: the symptoms, the medication prescribed, some recommendations to feel better or be cured in a week or two, a follow-up visit, and good-bye. You cannot use the present tense only. You need to talk about the past –either preterite or imperfect.
4.Practice your dialogue several times. Then either take pictures or record it on video.
5.Edit the video using iMovie, Movie Maker, Photo Story, QuickTime, Flash, or any other video editor. You may also use PowerPoint.
6.Both of you have to save your work in the e-portfolio with the name Proyecto 4, or Visita al doctor.
7.Your instructor may give you more instructions.
Instructions for option B:
1.Decide who will play each role and what type of job you are looking/hiring for. Give the business a name.
2.The person who is seeking a job has to fill out an application and the employer has to write at least five (5) questions related to the job that he or she will ask the applicant.
3.Then write the script for a dialogue. Remember to use USTED. The applicant is waiting for the interviewer. The applicant is filling out an application that asks him/her about previous experience and references. The interview starts and the employer has to ask the five questions. The applicant may use the information from the application to answer one or two or the questions, but not all of them. One of the questions are related to work ethics, team work, knowledge, skills, and attitudes, and previous experience. At the end, the interviewer has to tell the job seeker if he/she gets the job or no. ou cannot use the present tense only. You need to talk about the past –either preterite or imperfect.
4. Practice your dialogue several times. Then either take pictures or record it on video.
5.Edit the video using iMovie, Movie Maker, Photo Story, QuickTime, Flash, or any other video editor.
6.Both of you have to save your work in your e-portfolio with the name Proyecto 4-2, or Entrevista de trabajo.
7.Your instructor may give you more instructions.
Suggestions:
Plan your work. Spend more time writing and practicing your dialogue than shooting and editing. Remember that what counts is your performance, not the technical part of the project.
